That's right, this is the very last Masterpiece Models 45XX prairie tank still available – all others have now been sold so this really is the final chance to acquire one of these beautiful models.
The remaining model is No. 5531, one of the 4575 variants (Type 5) with the enlarged, sloping-top tanks, finished in British Railways lined green livery with the lion-over-wheel emblem. Shed plate is 83D (Plymouth Laira).
It is built to full Scale 7 standards, not only to the most accurate gauge in 7mm:1ft scale modelling, but also with correct wheel profiles which make a dramatic visual difference. The model is DCC fitted with sound and fittings include working inside motion, opening smokebox door with detailed tube plate, superheater header, blast jumper nozzles and steam pipes. The cab roof is detachable, making it easy to access the cab interior to fit a crew. We have working seats, sliding coal door, and opening firebox door.
