Series C British Railways Duchess Availability

A total of 50 British Railways Duchess will be built in series C, bringing our limited edition to a grand total of 111 Coronation/Duchess locomotives.  Unlike series A and B, all Duchesses ran in British Railways livery/liveries but Series C will not include 46253-7 as these ‘late’ builds were different in appearance, imposing even more production variations involving additional costs.  Neither will we produce the “semi-streamlined” Duchess with sloping front smokebox.

Inevitably there are detailed differences such as speedometers, AWS and so on. However our six parts are based on two main visible differences. Firstly three standard BR liveries (no experimental); and secondly either curved or split front running plates. Three liveries choices are :-

1. 1949 BR standard blue with full lining – BR lion over wheel logo on tender
2. 1951 BR standard green with full lining – with choice of BR logo on tender
3. 1957 BR crimson lake lined in LMS style – BR totem on tender

Other detailed differences will be made where appropriate. In addition, front cast iron number and BR shedplates will be fitted. Nameplates will be polished brass with black background.

Listed below is ALL 53 qualifying Duchesses under their respective BR conditions. Of course some names and numbers may appear more than once, reflecting their livery changes. For example, 46226 ‘Duchess of Norfolk’ is available in BR blue, green and crimson lake. Whereas some names appear only once; for example 46220 ‘Coronation’ in BR green. However we will only build ONE name and number in each livery as listed – guaranteed. Also note; we will only build the first 50 reserved of the 53 listed. You chose your unique BR Duchess name, number and livery.
